All We Need is a Little Patience

We all want and need new stuff all the time. And since you are reading this blog, I am pretty sure you want to be wise about your decisions. The key to doing this, is patience.

Impulse buying is a major problem in getting our personal finances in order. It is one of my MAJOR weaknesses. So how am I combating this? Well, I am trying to learn some patience. At the first of each month, I sit down and look at my budget and then try to plan out how I am going to spend my money. After factoring in my regular expenses, I think about what else is needed and or wanted. Obviously the needed comes first. Once the budget is adjusted to compensate for that (which may mean it gets delayed as the cash is not readily available for it), the wants are considered. Again, budget adjusted and this may happen or not depending on goal progress and such.

These needs and wants can be anything from clothes to a new computer. When you are factoring in these items, you should do your best to find the best deals. The Internet is a great resource for this. Amazon has great deals on just about anything. However, great care needs to be taking when researching and finding the best deals.

It is a gaurauntee that when you find one deal, another is right there or connected. Only buy what you have planned on buying. Decide what you are going to buy first, then look for deals and buy only that item. Don’t get swept up in the deal extravaganza.

Be patient, plan ahead, and you will be OK. It take some patience. You will often times have to wait to buy many things, but your financial well being will be your reward!
